Tetra is a London-based healthtech company building AI operating theatre scheduling software for NHS and private hospitals. Its platform helps elective care teams improve theatre utilisation, reduce wasted capacity, and coordinate patients, surgeons, theatre sessions, and clinical constraints more effectively. By giving hospital booking teams better visibility across waiting lists, patient readiness, and theatre capacity, Tetra supports hospitals working to reduce elective RTT waiting times and deliver more surgery with existing resources.

Tetra work very closely with the public sector, so security arrangements are imperative to their work due to data sharing and sensitive information. They found that onboarding new clients meant consistently completing lengthy forms each time, as they needed to provide detailed security information, so they were looking for a solution to help them streamline the onboarding process whilst providing confidence and reassurance to their clients.
Having previously achieved Cyber Essentials Tetra were keen to maintain this so that they could give confidence to clients about their approach to safeguarding sensitive data and to comply with regulations such as the Data Protection Act 2018. With the upcoming expiration of their current certification looming, they knew they had a deadline to which they were working, but this year, they were looking for a higher level of assurance and confidence that would be provided by achieving Cyber Essentials Plus.
Tetra was introduced to KIT365 via the IASME referral scheme. An initial email was sent to Jamie Papasavvas, the CEO and Co-Founder, explaining the process along with the option for a 30-minute free call to ensure KIT365 could support Tetra in achieving their business needs. Contact was swiftly made with Nick Sandel, the founding engineer, and a call was arranged. It was clear after that call that KIT365 was the right partner for Tetra, and arrangements were made for certification processes to start.
Nick explained he has never led the Cyber Essentials Plus process before, so was uncertain of all the requirements, but what KIT365 found was that Nick had nothing to worry about, as what he did know was his people, systems, and processes. The Cyber Essentials process was quick and smooth, with Nick actively completing the self-led questionnaire and responding to feedback when given. He said, “I appreciated getting the prompt responses as this helped us to keep within our timeframe.” During the process, Nick had a couple of calls with our managing director, Rob Kneller, and this helped to eliminate queries and to support the timely progression. Once Cyber Essentials had been achieved, Tetra was straight on to completing the Cyber Essentials Plus audit and strategically arranged this to allow availability to our assessors across their staff. The hands-on technical audit was completed within a day, and follow-up enquiries were made promptly for them to have their Cyber Essentials Plus report and certification.
When asked about what this now meant for Tetra, Nick explained that this had provided the additional level of security needed to reduce their onboarding process, had hardened their security measures, and helped them to tender for new clients, enhancing their integrity and authority for both public sectors and patients. He said that not only did the Cyber Essentials Plus provide an additional layer of confidence to their clients, but it also built his own confidence in their security and systems.
When asking Rob Kneller, company director at KIT365, about how the process of working with Tetra went, he said, “The work that Tetra does is important in making sure patients are cared for in a timely manner. The systems they have in place to achieve this are extremely clever and just what patients and hospitals need, so being able to support them in improving part of this service and giving them and their clients the reassurance that the Cyber Essentials certifications give was incredible. Working with them was plain sailing. They were available to jump on calls when needed, made any tweaks and adjustments promptly, and were a lovely bunch to work with. We look forward to being able to work with Tetra in the future to support them with their Cyber Security requirements.”
